UK first. Europe where it's worth it.

Most of what GB buyers need — excavators, telehandlers, rollers — is available within the UK, often closer than you'd think. We search the UK first. Where Europe offers a genuinely better machine, spec or price, we go and get it — with the landed cost worked out before you commit, not after.

These are some of the used construction machines GB buyers search for most often—and exactly the kinds of machines we help buyers find, check and buy. We search UK dealer, auction and private-seller stock first, widening into Europe only when it genuinely offers a better machine, specification or price.

Buying at a UK auction — without giving up your day

The UK has one of the deepest used-plant auction markets in the world. Machines come out of hire fleets, contractor disposals and finance recoveries, and they sell on a fixed public calendar to whoever turns up. You could go yourself — or you could keep your day and let someone who does this every week stand in the room for you.

We tell you what's coming up

Sale dates well ahead of time, including Euro Auctions and Ritchie Bros, so you can plan around them instead of hearing about a machine after it's gone.

We send you the catalogues

Catalogues are published days or weeks before each sale. We send them over as soon as they're out, so you're looking at the same list as everyone else in the room.

We go and inspect

In person, with photographs and video. Hours, condition, and an honest read on how the machine has been treated — plus anything we could not check, such as whether it could be started. We tell you what we saw, not what we assumed.

We bid for you on the day

To your written limit and never above it.

Delivered wherever you need it

Transport from the auction site to your yard, arranged and tracked — one less phone call for you to make.

You're never bidding blind

The whole point is that somebody who knows machinery has stood in front of the lot before you commit a pound to it — and has told you honestly what they found.

How the money works

You register your own account with the auction house, you fund it, and you pay the auction house directly. Euro Plant Finder never holds your money, never bids as principal and never owns the machine — we act as your agent, to the limit you set in writing, and invoice our fee separately.

One buyer per lot

We'll only ever represent one buyer on any given lot. We can't advise two customers on the same machine while holding both their maximum bids, so if a lot is already spoken for we'll tell you it's taken — and nothing else about it.

Send us a lot number, or just tell us what you're hunting for and we'll watch the sales for you. Start an enquiry →

The process

From your brief to your yard — managed start to finish.

Whichever route you're on — searching from scratch, or checking a machine you've already found — the process looks like this.

01

Your brief

Tell us the machine — spec, year, hours, attachments and budget — or send us the listing you've already found.

02

We search — or we verify

If you need us to find it: UK dealers, auctions and private sellers first, Europe where it's worth it. If you've found it: we check the seller and the listing before you go any further.

03

Machine checks and inspection

We verify the seller, gather the evidence needed to assess the machine and arrange a physical inspection where you want it or where the risk justifies it. Scope and cost are agreed first.

04

Negotiation & purchase

We negotiate on your behalf. The seller invoices you and you pay the seller directly. Where appropriate, we help make sure the agreed price, condition and seller commitments are clearly documented before payment.

05

Transport & delivery

Collection and delivery arranged to your yard or site — within the UK, or from Europe with export documentation and shipping handled if that's where the machine came from.

06

On your yard, ready to work

Tracked from collection to delivery. One person responsible for the whole chain.

Machinery transport — collection and delivery managed end to end
The real risk

"If it turns up worn out or misrepresented, I'm stuck with downtime on a live job — and that costs me far more than the machine."

You're relying on photos, a seller's word, and whatever time you've got left in the day to check it properly. We remove that gamble.

Machine checks and inspection

We verify the seller, check hours, undercarriage wear and service history, and gather the evidence needed to assess the machine honestly. A physical inspection is arranged where you want it or where the risk justifies it.

Seller verified before you commit

We assess who you're buying from — not just the machine. The biggest risk with any purchase is the seller. We deal with that before any money moves.

No wasted days

We do the ringing round, the site visits and the chasing so you don't lose a working day to a machine that turns out to be wrong for the job.

If it comes from Europe — one managed chain

Transport, export declarations, shipping, delivery — all coordinated. You don't have to manage separate freight, customs and transport contacts.

What we source

Construction machinery — across every category.

If it works on a site or a civil project, we can find it, check it, and get it to your yard. A rough spec is all we need.

Why Euro Plant Finder

On the buyer's side — never the seller's.

No inventory to clear. No seller commission. We may know and work with the seller, but the seller does not pay us. Our commercial relationship is with you.

Multiple machines consolidated for delivery
Multi-machine sourcing

Need more than one machine? We can handle the whole list.

We can source several machines from different UK and European sellers, consolidate collection, and manage delivery to one or more of your sites — one point of contact for the whole order.

Buyer-side

We represent you — not the seller. No inventory, no bias, no incentive to push a particular machine.

Optional inspection

Arranged where you want it or where the risk justifies it. Not bought blind off a listing or trusted from photos alone.

No sourcing fee

Unless we complete your deal. Inspection costs quoted upfront, agreed before we travel.

Why not just buy locally?

UK first. Europe where it's worth it — and never for its own sake.

For most excavators, telehandlers and rollers, the UK market has what you need — we start there, and for the majority of enquiries, that's also where we finish. Europe comes into it only when it genuinely gets you a better outcome.

Stock depth

When UK stock is thin on a specific spec or configuration, the European dealer, auction and private-seller market gives us a much wider pool to search.

Pricing

For the right machine, the European price — including transport and our fee — can still come in below what's available at home, particularly for larger, older, or specialist machinery.

Spec

European-built machines are often well-serviced with full dealer records. Condition varies, which is exactly why we verify before you commit, wherever the machine is standing.

Brands & models

Some models and configurations simply aren't available in the UK. If there's something specific you're after, that's when we look wider.

GB — common questions

What GB buyers ask before they enquire.

The questions that matter — answered honestly before you pick up the phone.

What does Euro Plant Finder actually do that I couldn't do myself?

We do the searching, the seller verification, the negotiating and the paperwork — the parts that eat a day of your time or expose you to risk if you get them wrong. Many buyers could technically find a machine themselves; what they don't have is the time to properly check twenty listings and the sellers behind them, or the leverage to negotiate as a trade buyer rather than a one-off private purchaser.

I've already found a machine — can you just check it and handle the purchase?

Yes — that's exactly what our "I've already found one" route is for. Send us the listing and we'll verify the seller, arrange inspection where it's justified, negotiate on your behalf and handle the paperwork through to delivery. You don't need us to search; you need someone on your side before you commit.

Do you only source in the UK, or from Europe too?

Both. Most excavators, telehandlers and rollers we source for GB buyers come from the UK — there's rarely a reason to look further. Where a specific spec, brand or price point genuinely isn't available domestically, we search Europe as well, and we work out the landed cost — transport, any import paperwork, our fee — before you commit, not after.

What does the service cost?

The buying agent fee is success-only — nothing to pay if we don't complete your deal. Inspection travel costs, if any are needed, are quoted and agreed upfront before we travel. You pay the seller directly.

How do I pay the seller safely?

You pay the seller directly — no money passes through Euro Plant Finder. Before any payment moves, we verify the seller (business identity, trading history, physical premises) and arrange inspection of the machine where you want it or where the risk justifies it. A purchase contract is prepared between you and the seller to protect your interests.

Can you bid at a UK auction on my behalf?

Yes. You register your own account with the auction house and fund it yourself — we never hold your money or bid in our own name. You give us your maximum in writing, we inspect the lot beforehand and report honestly on its condition, and we bid to your limit and never above it. If you win, you pay the auction house directly and we invoice our fee separately.

What if the machine isn't as described?

We verify every seller and gather the evidence needed to assess the machine honestly, arranging a physical inspection where you want it or where the risk justifies it — specifically to prevent this. We check hours, condition, undercarriage wear and service history, and report what we find honestly, including anything that leads us to recommend walking away. In the rare event something is genuinely not as agreed, we don't walk away — we stay involved and pursue it with the seller on your behalf.
